The Director of Students (DOS) is an administrative position responsible for providing leadership and management for day-to-day student service-related operations at Utah State University Brigham City and Tremonton. The purpose of this position is to develop, enhance, and maintain programs that support students in the attainment of their educational goals with a focus on recruitment, retention, and completion.
The DOS leads and engages in strategic planning and promotes creative ideas that foster student success and enable the campus to be more productive, efficient, and continuously improve student services.
The chosen candidate will be a key member of the Utah State University Brigham City campus and Tremonton center. As part of the leadership team, the DOS will provide campus oversight in the absence, or at the direction, of the Associate Vice President. As a member of the campus leadership team, the Director will represent Utah State University in various capacities and will need to be an effective communicator, collaborator, and partner with others representing educational, business, and community partners.
The position requires excellent interpersonal skills along with strong coordination, planning, and organizational skills. The candidate must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others or as part of a team, effectively supervise student service staff, and build good rapport with a variety of constituents. The successful candidate must be flexible, patient and creative along with having a service-oriented attitude.
The successful candidate will have the ability to create a positive atmosphere, inspire others to greatness, and be able to bring fun and excitement to the region.
This position will work under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President of USU Brigham City Region with a dotted reporting line to the Assistant Vice President of Statewide Campuses.
Essential Function: Campus Leadership: 40%
+ Serve as a member of the Brigham City Region’s Innovation Team.
+ Support and work in collaboration with campus staff to provide academic excellence and engaging campus services for students and the community.
+ Support the state-wide mission of Utah State University and represent Associate Vice President at meetings and community events as needed.
+ Provide leadership, as assigned by the Associate Vice President, and oversight for special projects and committees that will enhance and expan
