The Idaho Department of Labor has an opening for a temporary Motor Vehicle Operator 2 at the Idaho Job Corps in Nampa. This individual will manage and operate a fleet of transportation and maintenance equipment to assist with smooth operations of the center. This individual will transport students to and from activities, and will work with staff to ensure equipment is available for them for a variety of operations. The vehicle fleet includes sedans, a 15-passenger van, shuttle bus, school bus, forklifts, and various maintenance equipment. This individual will need to attain a CDL with a passenger endorsement within the first three months of employment.

Daily tasks will include pickup and drop off routes throughout the day to ensure students are able to make it to classes, and appointments. In between routes, this individual will ensure that all equipment is maintained properly, and will work with the Building Superintendent on any necessary repairs for equipment on center. This individual will also develop and manage the check-in and check-out systems for equipment.

The Idaho Job Corps Program is a federally-funded demonstration project that is partnering with the College of Western Idaho to prepare students for in-demand jobs across the state.

The current opening is temporary with no benefits, working approximately 15 hours per week until September 30, 2022. The hours will be 4-7pm Monday thru Friday.

The applicant who is selected for this position will be required to pass a background check.

This individual will have extensive contact with all students and staff at the Idaho Job Corps site. They will also have contact with adults who may provide services to students if they are transporting them to special appointments. They will have contact with staff from the College of Western Idaho.
