Job Description

The Department of Athletics is looking for a Business Assistant II. The primary responsibility of this position will be financial aid transactions for the department as well as administrative support to men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball and compliance. The position requires organizational skills, and needs to be able to work independently as well as be a team player.

+ Primary contact for the Estes Center; first person to welcome visitors and address their needs; answer phones and route calls to appropriate personnel. Coordinate office coverage with other team members.

+ Financial Aid Specialist for the Athletics Department; works with the compliance department and financial aid office to post financial aid for student athletes, runs weekly and monthly balance reports for stipend and account balance accuracy; notifies compliance of issues with student accounts and post accordingly; take appropriate actions when fees are not posting or when other issues arise.

+ Support the compliance department, creating GIA letters; generating eligibility reports and filing in shared storage; monitoring Arms & NCAA websites; putting together recruiting travel logs; and other clerical tasks.

+ Provide administrative support to men’s basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball.

+ Coordinate purchase and payment requests and process in a timely manner while adhering to USU purchasing and p-card procedures. Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. Ensures department transactions are properly recorded and processed.

+ Manages assigned projects effectively and demonstrates reliability and strong work ethic.

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Four years of related work experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of related work experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a business field is required.

+ Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

+ Ability to work efficiently without immediate supervision.

+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.

+ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business data and personal information.

+ Ability to work without supervision.

+ Knowledge of University policies and procedures.

+ Excellent customer service skills.
