The Principal Engineer, Geographies will be looked upon as a subject matter expert (SME) in electrical construction. He/she will serve as the technical linkage between internal and external clients in the areas of power distribution, short-circuit coordination & Arc Flash studies, low voltage system integration within project development, carrying out assignments associated with the modeling and technical reviews to ensure efficient end-to-end project execution. This position is expected to provide leadership/mentorship to cross-functional teams and less experienced engineers/technicians.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Experience: 5-10 years' experience working in design, prototype, and testing is desired

Travel: 10-15%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly manages complex projects involving a team of technical staff; project types include, but are not limited to, Industrial , Healthcare, High-Rise, General Build, Renewables .

  • Responsible for electrical project development, design and procurement for various projects with a strong focus on power distribution and low voltage systems.

  • Interpret and apply NEC, NFPA and OSHA requirements pertaining to electrical safe work practices.

  • Provide engineering guidance and critique to ensure proper risk assessment, communication and traceability to design outputs.

  • Establish engineering standard drawing and assembly specification documents for all phases of preconstruction (conceptual through issue for construction)

  • Act as a technical liaison for all preconstruction activities: engineering, VDC and estimating.

  • Assist in development of final project proposals, scope definition, and pricing.

  • Responsible for project budget management.

  • Responsible for project quality management and incorporating lessons learned.

  • Assist in training and coaching of cross-functional personnel within preconstruction.

  • Maintain Faith's competitive position and profitability by helping to create a strategic vision for the Preconstruction group.

  • Focus on emerging technology, supplier integration and resources to bring innovative products to market through construction projects, resulting in accelerated revenue (i.e.-renewable/distributed energy systems).

  • Work collaboratively with regional business partners to identify incremental target prospects and research needed, as well as key outreach strategies and tactics to secure new account meetings while nurturing existing relationships with clients.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned with a high level of professionalism.
