Primary Skills, Abilities, and Responsibilities:
Help customers make product selections by answering questions about preparation and ingredients
Maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to all customers
Exhibit high standards of ethics, honesty, trust, accountability, and respect
Maintain line cleanliness and sanitation (cutting boards, floor, trash, slicer, and walk-in areas)
Prioritize time to ensure that customers, prep work, stocking, and cleaning are handled efficiently
Follow department procedures for packaging, weighing, and pricing deli items for customers
Maintain a working knowledge of the menu, vendors, and products in the Deli
Adhere to all Idaho laws regarding food safety and sanitation
Follow department procedures for processing known loss, invoices, and special orders
Experience in a deli or restaurant and Food safety certified by the State strongly preferred
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and must be committed to providing excellent customer service
Must possess a great attitude, solid work ethic, and comprehend simple instructions, recipes, and training materials
Work history demonstrating self-motivation, dependability, and able and willing to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
Education and Experience Guidelines:
Level I Is the learning level in the series. Level I will initially be under immediate supervision, incumbents perform routine duties while learning procedures and practices.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to high-level staff
0-3 years retail experience (preferably grocery or other customer service centric sector)
Able to perform assigned tasks within various areas of the department
Actively working to gain understanding and demonstrating our core values
Possess beginning knowledge of department functioning
Secondary Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Ability to build relationships, learn quickly, and maintain strong interpersonal skills
Anticipates guests and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment
Delivers world class customer service to all guests by discovering and responding to their needs
Maintain regular and punctual attendance, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must comply with all departmental policies and procedures
Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
Performs other duties as required by supervisor
