Overview
Gem Air is an air service company based in Salmon, Idaho. Our mission is to provide our customers with safe, reliable, and clean air service from a friendly and professional staff. We do a lot of different types of flying, from passenger flights between Boise and Salmon, to backcountry flights for outdoors people, to flying cargo for UPS.
We are looking for a hard-working shop and office person to join us as a Parts Specialist and Administrative Assistant.
This is a full time, year round position. We are re-vamping our parts and inventory system, and to start, this position will be assisting our Director of Maintenance to accomplish that goal. Setting up that process and system will take 3-5 months.
After the new parts and inventory system is fully in place, this position will maintain it, and responsibilities will include ordering parts, taking care of tracking and paperwork, managing inventory, etc. In addition to managing parts and inventory, this position will include a varying amount of administrative tasks, which could include customer service, computer work, data entry, researching, assisting with projects, etc., as needed.
Responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assisting with the development and implementation of a new parts and inventory system
- Ordering parts, and ensuring we get the best price possible
- Manage parts room and keep both parts and information organized
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers
- Coordinate shipping and delivery
- Ensure accurate information tracking as necessary
- Ensure appropriate inventory levels for parts
- Administrative support duties for both maintenance and main office, to include data entry, digital and paper file organization, printing, copying, purchase orders, etc.
- Could include customer service and taking reservations for flights
- Assist with keeping shop and work areas clean and orderly
- Additional duties as required
