From facilities delivering life-saving therapies and ensuring clean water to enabling the connection of people through all modes of transportation and providing access to technology – we’re integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build the smart environments of tomorrow.
Start your Jacobs career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow and succeed – today and into tomorrow.
Your Impact:
The energy industry is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, moving away from fossil fuels to alternative clean energy sources and transforming the utility landscape to enhance safety and reliability. Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to tackle the complexities of decarbonization and utility modernization to deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future. As part of this we are expanding our global expertise in utility system hardening in the North American West Coast market and in the US Offshore Wind market.
By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to deploy your leadership and technical skills to solve our clients’ challenging needs, focused primarily on power utility hardening programs and offshore wind development projects, in our emerging North America transmission and distribution practice. This position requires an experienced professional seeking to take a leadership role working closely with our clients and building a delivery team to drive innovation and delivery excellence in the power utility industry. In addition to supporting our clients, you will have the opportunity to further advance your career at Jacobs by developing and managing a team of engineers and designers to expand our transmission and distribution portfolio while elevating the Jacobs brand as a top-tier provider of utility design and PMO services.
This opening provides the opportunity to engage with our clients, providing “end-to-end” process and stakeholder management. Demonstrated abilities include producing utility system designs with limited oversight or instruction, coordination with multi-disciplinary design teams and quality control/assurance. Subject matter expertise in transmission line design will be highly regarded, as will experience in underground power utility design.
Your primary responsibilities will focus upon developing civil designs for undergrounding of power utilities to utility clients on the US west coast and civil designs for US offshore wind projects. You’ll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery.
If you are excited by the possibilities of contributing to a more sustainable and resilient energy future, motivated by a challenge, and enjoy working with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to develop innovative solutions, Jacobs is the place for you.
