Senior Cybersecurity Architect

Job Description

The Senior Cybersecurity Architect is a remote-telework position that supports our cybersecurity team and reports directly to our director of Cybersecurity Operations & Engineering. This role is a senior-level position responsible for planning, designing, testing, implementing and maintaining Amentum’s computer and network security infrastructure. US Citizenship is required.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Develop a complete understanding of Amentum’s technology and information systems.

+ Document and address Amentum’s information security, cybersecurity architecture and systems security engineering requirements.

+ Research, design, plan and integrate robust cybersecurity architecture designs for systems and networks to support multiple compliance requirements.

+ Ensure acquired or developed systems and architectures are consistent with the organization’s cybersecurity architecture guidelines and relevant policies and standards.

+ Evaluate IT security products and services.

+ Create topology diagrams and process flow charts as required.

+ Influence stakeholders to adapt security strategies, while ensuring alignment with the technology strategy.

+ Define and document how the implementation of a new system, or new interfaces between systems impacts the security posture of the current environment.

+ Respond to security related incidents and provide thorough remedial solutions and analysis.

+ Prevent or minimize the exploitation of data from threats.

+ Create and provide metrics to cybersecurity leadership.

+ Travel up to 25%.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen.

+ Minimum of 8 years’ experience in cybersecurity architectural design and implementation.

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar degree path.

+ Active ISC2 CISSP certification.

+ Solid understanding of system and network security technologies and related concepts, e.g. boundary protection, network segmentation, endpoint security, threat hunting.

+ Understanding in application security, identity and access management (e.g. SSO, OAuth, SAML, MFA), cryptography.

+ Familiarity with security management tools, configuration management and automation concepts.

+ Solid understanding of IT risk management, ability to identify security risks and design related mitigation strategies.

+ Experience with hybrid environments that include both cloud and on-premises assets.

+ Knowledge of NIST publications and their relevancy to compliance.

+ Strong written and verbal communications, especially ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

+ Self-starter with desire for professional excellence, able to work with minimal supervision.

+ Able to prioritize and adapt to dynamic changes in the environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

+ Experience with government or DoD environments.

+ Master’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or other relevant fields preferred but not required.
