Job Summary/Basic Function:
This position will manage the financial and budget systems and processes, including accounting and budgeting, for Campus Services, which consists of four business areas. It will assist with strategic financial planning and forecasting for systems, human resources, operations, and technology, leading to insightful, accurate business decision-making.
Department Overview:
Campus Services consists of the Student Union, University Event Services, Dining Services, and the Bronco Shops. Campus Services often provides the first connection with students, guests, and visitors to campus. We employ more than 300 student staff members a year, providing students with hands-on experience focusing on learning outcomes to support desirable skills, attitudes, behaviors, and experiences critical to the academic experience. Level Scope:
Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of area typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are complicated and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, practices, and procedures. Manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments. Manages the accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and often physical resources in compliance with departmental and campus-wide goals and objectives. Ensures subordinate supervisors and professionals adhere to defined internal controls on policy and strategy implementation. Manages systems and procedures to protect departmental assets and requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics within one area.
The Ideal Candidate:
The incumbent will provide financial oversight, business analysis, etc., for Campus Services within the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management. Campus Services departments include the Bronco Shops (the university collegiate retail stores), food and beverage services, university events, and the Student Union Building. The incumbent will possess strong leadership skills, analytical acumen, executive communication skills, and a strategic mindset. The Senior Finance Manager embraces the challenge of interpreting data, advising senior leadership on business decisions, collaborating with various departments, and making decisions that align with strategic goals.
Essential Functions:
60% of Time the Finance, Senior Manager must:
- Develop and maintain accounting systems, prepare complex financial documents, and handle difficult or sensitive financial matters
- Oversee contract administration, plan and review financial operations in collaboration with third-party vendors
- Develops human resource and capital acquisition plans and provides fiscal leadership for sales, services, and operations.
- Develop financial reports, analyze data, and provide consultation on tools, process flows, policies, and procedures.
- Develop executive financial summaries to supervisors and executives to include technical and financial abnormalities
- Manage department funds and serve as a liaison with other campus departments on finance or human capital processes and controls, requests, or issues. Enforce policies and compliance and work through challenging situations
- Provide expertise, training, and support to improve understanding of financial data, policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Develop- and implement- solid internal controls over financial resources and ensure that all financial transactions, systems, and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles, and standards
- Participate in developing and implementing strategic plans, budgets, department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Support individuals and teams in process excellence, project management, problem-solving, and value creation to drive required outcomes.
- Design and develop accurate, timely, transparent financial analysis and reporting on various areas, including the Student Union, Bronco Shop, Event Services, University Dining, and Bronco Card Operations.
- Develop and maintain long-term financial and planning models for the department, including capital planning for using reserves, an operating/business plan, revenue forecasts, and plans for fee increases.
- Ensure compliance with organization policies and procedures and prepare financial analysis of department operations.
- Work with divisional leadership, department directors, and managers to develop and implement tactical roadmaps to achieve strategic goals.
- Develop and implement clear communications within the department and coordinate with key divisional and university stakeholders to support efficient, consistent processes and procedures.
- Oversee effective and efficient payroll, supporting strategic initiatives as they relate to compensation and benefits and ensuring strong customer service
- Utilize Oracle Financial Services and other software to meet the department's needs. Provide input and direction on efficiencies and accuracy of database management.
- Oversee the University food service and beverage contracts, including negotiation, execution, compliance, financial management, amendments, and renewal or termination, ensuring alignment with university goals and efficient operation of services.
- Responsible for all financial reporting and reconciliation of the food service contract, including monthly reconciliation for payment processing and review meetings with campus partners.
- Participate in departmental, divisional, and university events, initiatives, and programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years relevant experience including 1 year of managerial experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Oracle Financial Cloud
- Two years of experience in Excel Power Pivot
- Certified Public Accountant
- Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
