Micron Technology, Inc. has an opening for Senior System Manager in Boise, ID. 

Job Duties: Work regularly with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. Suggest, promote, and demonstrate published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance. Provide hybrid technology directions through monthly worldwide collaboration meetings. Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Windows and VMware platforms whether on-prem, Hybrid or in the public Cloud. Improve operations efficiency with automation tasks. Maintain OLA and SLA agreements with other Micron Business Units. Maintain global collaboration with the other Micron IT operations teams, both internal and external to I&O. Monitor overall health of the Windows/VMware environment with an emphasis on proactive discovery of potential issues. Datacenter Hands and Feet support (racking, provisioning, maintaining, troubleshooting, and decommissioning). Troubleshoot\finetune performance issues and ensure high availability of the production servers. Use scripting languages and tools to automate operational activities, tasks, system builds, and changes in the environment (Ansible, PowerShell, Shell, Python, etc.). Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the systems. Creating all the necessary documentation for any changes in the environment or new technology deployments as reference architecture for the global operation team. Continuously improve operations through routine monitoring of system performance metrics and proactive actions. Reviewing of system log files, trend analysis, configuration, incident and problem management processes. Recommends and works with the Solution and Enterprise Architect on system or architectural changes when needed to improve performance, high availability, scalability, or propose new technologies. Ensures architectural consistency and provides technical direction through roadmap process, knowledge management, disaster recovery plan development and testing. Able to build sophisticated systems using network/storage/compute resources, whether on-prem, Hybrid or in the public Cloud.

May telecommute from home.

Requirements:  Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent or related field and 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior System Manager-related occupation. Alternatively, in lieu of Bachelor’s degree employer will accept an additional two (2) years of experience in Senior System Manager- related occupation.
