Job Description
BME Fire Trucks is seeking skilled Plumbing Technicians with experience. We are a locally owned Fire Truck manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. BME manufactures wildland fire apparatus used in the US and Canada for wildland fire suppression. Be a part of something that makes a difference in saving lives, homes, and our amazing recreational areas. As a plumbing technician, you will read and understand blue prints and collect the proper materials needed to start the pump plumbing assembly process. You will use hand and power tools to complete their tasks. You must maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing pipe for plumbing installation including cutting and threading
- Performing hydrostatic leak tests and recording results
- Repairing any identified leaks
- Installing plastic/rubber pneumatic gauge tubing and making connections
- Fitting and installing pump panel and mechanical linkages
- Performing tack-welding for pipe and bracketry
- Preparing pipe for plumbing installation, such as cutting and threading
- Performing vacuum tests and recording results
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and 3D drawing models
- Creating custom fabrication, such as brackets and pipe routing
