Judicial Specialist - Juvenile Justice Court

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide full clerical and administrative support to multiple rotating Magistrate Judges handling juvenile and child protection cases.
- Coordinate court calendars, schedule hearings, and manage daily workflows in a high-volume, emotionally sensitive environment.
- Serve as a courtroom clerk: prepare for and record proceedings, distribute court documents, and handle case follow-ups.
- Draft, edit, and process legal and administrative orders and correspondence.
- Respond to public, attorney, law enforcement, and internal inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive legal records and personal information in accordance with Idaho law.
- Monitor case timelines, purge and archive files, and assist in inter-agency records retrieval for criminal and child welfare matters.
- Act as a representative of the court in your conduct, demeanor, and communications.
Do You Have What It Takes:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED, plus one year of secretarial/paralegal training and at least 4 years of court-related experience (2 as a Court Services Float Clerk or similar). Equivalent combinations may be considered.
- Legal Expertise: Strong grasp of legal terminology, court procedures, and Idaho judicial processes. Ability to draft court documents with precision and clarity.
- Administrative Skill: Exceptional attention to detail, multitasking ability, and experience handling complex case data and legal filing systems.
- People Skills: Poise in emotionally charged situations, professionalism in dealing with a wide range of individuals (judges, attorneys, the public, law enforcement), and excellent communication skills.

Beyond The Basics:
- Must maintain high ethical standards and discretion with confidential information.
- Will be required to attend Idaho Institute of Court Management (IICM) and other mandatory training programs as offered.
- Knowledge of Idaho Code and court retention rules preferred, not required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable, with the ability to travel to hospitals, the Public Safety Building, and other remote court locations as needed.
