Job Description
This position is responsible for preparing and serving patient and staff meals, keeping kitchen clean, assuring patients have accurate menus and meals, completing performance audits, and other duties as assigned. Will clean and sanitize galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and functional operation. Cook foods according to menus, recipes, and special dietary or nutritional restrictions, or numbers of portions to be served. Compile and maintain records of food use and expenditures. Experience with restaurant/ institutional cooking is preferred. Must be certified by Dept. of Health and Welfare as a food service sanitation worker; UNICODE certified within 6 months of hire. Must be able to interact with patients, staff, visitors and others courteously and professionally. Pay begins at $11.25/hr, plus depending on experience.
