Job Description
Consultant, please conduct a seated interview. Period of intended employment 7/10/2025-11/15/2025. Location Sagle, Idaho. This position requires at least 6 months of experience.
Duties may include Load and unload semi-truck with a forklift. Prepare bees and beekeeping equipment for honey production. Worker must be familiar with working with bees in all stages of life including the egg through being fully developed workers, drones, and queens. Worker must be able to assist in grafting, creating nucs, and assess colony to determine if it needs food or medicine. Worker will be responsible for medicating, feeding, and maintaining hives in healthy states, increasing hives by splitting, raising and replacing queens, making divides and building, painting and cleaning hives. Worker will assist in harvesting honey, run queen breeding yard, manipulate and service hive structures and haul bees to and from different hive locations to ensure healthy and productive bee colonies. Must respond correctly to bees in order to harmonize with their natural cycle and keep them in the healthiest state. Worker will provide general maintenance and servicing of equipment and facilities. Worker will box, weigh, and load hives into semi-truck and will also be responsible for cleaning work areas and equipment & other related Beekeeper activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 100lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal. Possible background check post hire at employer's expense. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid US Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work. Must not be allergic to bees, pollen or honey. Worker will be expected to operate a forklift, flatbed truck and trailer, and use smoke and chemicals on bees. Basic work requirements: Exposure to extreme temperatures, Driver requirements, Extensive pushing or pulling, Criminal background check, Extensive sitting or walking, walking, Drug screen, Frequent stooping or bending over, Lifting requirement ___100_____ lbs., Repetitive movements. Worker will be provided a beekeeper suit at the start of the season, if suit is not returned upon completion, worker may be deducted for suit cost. Worker will be deducted for tools that are excessively damaged upon return.
