Job Description
ACCOUNTANT
Regular Full Time Status: Exempt / SALARY
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
- Maintain general ledger and related accounts, processing adjustments as needed
- Reconcile individual department balance sheets, bank balances and statements, grant funding, and related financial documents to general ledger
- Review and approve journal entries prepared by staff
- Maintain various account reconciliations, including cash account, general ledger accounts, and grant expenditures and receipts
- Process invoices and prepare reports to grant agencies, assist CC Idaho staff in monitoring and reporting grants, and answer questions regarding grants
- Prepare annual budgets by funding source
- Process quarterly and other periodic W-2, 1099, and related income and withholding reports
- Supervise and train subordinate employees
- Maintain insurance, benefit, and 401K packages for CC Idaho employees
- Maintain CC Idaho fixed asset, inventory, and depreciation records
- Assist department heads and other personnel with budget and financial procedures
- Assist customers and vendors with CC Idaho procedures and explain CC Idaho procedures/policies/programs to customers and resolve customer concerns
- Maintain CC Idaho comprehensive insurance policy
- Prepare, distribute, and maintain a variety of financial and budget documents, reports, correspondence, log sheets, applications, and related documents
- Assist in implementing and recommend new Department internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Maintain files, logs and other records
- Research special projects, as assigned
- Maintain and adhere to a strict code of confidentiality
- Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with CC Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practices
Required Essential Skills
- Knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping and cash handling record keeping practices
- Knowledge of account billing and collection procedures
- Ability to respond courteously to customer and agency inquiries
- Ability to implement regulatory compliance issues related to the department’s function
- Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts and prepare reports
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Time Management Skills
Required Physical Demands
- Is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Work Environment
Work in an office or classroom setting; may be exposed to electrical shock and fumes or airborne particles; the work may be stressful; the noise level is moderate to elevated
