Job Description
The basic function of the experienced Professional Truck Driver varies and does require responsibility and expertise in many areas. The Driver, first and foremost is the “captain” of his/her truck and is expected to move freight as directed in a safe and professional manner. The Driver is also responsible for the paperwork associated with each load/unload, turning in the legible paperwork in a timely manner and maintaining DOT mandated Logbooks according to all Federal and State Motor Carrier Regulations. All duties in this position MUST be carried out in a professional, courteous, and safe manner.
Our employees and Owner Operators are all part of a working team. Our drivers report to his/her dispatcher and the owners for fulfillment of their responsibilities, authority and for their proper interpretations. He/She will coordinate their activities and cooperate with personnel when necessary and/or directed.
An average day may include 10-15+ hours within a work week of 5-7 days. Our goal is to get every company driver home on the weekends, however, due to the nature of the business, this may or may not always happen. Each driver should be physically and mentally able to meet the demands as required by an assigned load i.e.: carrying tarps, lifting to 75+pounds including tarps, climbing, bending, squatting, twisting, reaching above the shoulder level, kneeling, walking, running, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting for long periods of time. Drivers must be prepared for environmental factors such as extreme temperatures, fumes, odors, dust, gases, allergens, and mechanical, electrical, and weather-related hazards.
Pay is based on miles for delivery of loads in a safe and professional manner.
