Job Description
Our client in Coeur d’Alene, ID, a leader in advanced composite manufacturing for aerospace and defense, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team. In this role, you will develop, evaluate, improve, and document the manufacturing process for complex composite aero structures. Compensation for the Manufacturing Engineer
- $70,000 - $75,000 Annually DOE

Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer
- Develops and implements process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments
- Develops manufacturing build plan
- Analyzes manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and output
- Collaborates with suppliers, Tooling Engineer, and NPD/Manufacturing Engineers regarding product tooling and design to ensure effectual production methods.
- Works closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement manufacturing build plan and create technical training for employees
- Designs and develops manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures & tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost
- Creates and maintains accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts in accordance with the manufacturing engineering standards
- Provides engineering support in production environment to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems
- Participates in and occasionally leads technology and process optimizations to drive continuous improvement on quality and safety, and to reduce production costs and flows
- Supports company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and manufacturing practices
- Performs production readiness evaluation and producibility assessment of all engineering changes.
- Part time mentoring of less experienced engineering team members.
Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited University.
- Minimum of 5 years recent working experience on commercial/defense aircraft/rotorcraft composite materials, parts, or processes with OEM and/or suppliers
- Recent experience with and demonstrated competency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Solid Works and CATIA preferred) and Microsoft Office including excellence in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Aviation and/or Defense Industry experience preferred.
- Must be a United States citizen
- Knowledge within the SAP MRP production control system (Sage and Global Shop preferred)
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Excellent technical and analytic skills
- Familiarity with Boeing commercial and defense process and material specifications preferred.
- Experience with tooling design, tooling design reviews, and tooling supplier management are preferred
