Job Description
Summary
The Valley County Clerk’s Office is looking for a Court Clerk Recruit to provide entry-level legal, clerical, and administrative support in civil and criminal judicial court cases. As this position provides significant support to the public, a strong emphasis on excellent customer service is a requirement. This is a full-time position with full employee benefits, and the work schedule is four 10-hour days per week.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities
Incumbents in this position will receive significant one-on-one training to learn all the necessary duties of the job. Typical duties include interacting with the public (in-person and by telephone or email), accepting and receipting money payments, scheduling court hearings and preparing courtrooms for legal proceedings, creating and maintaining case files, and acting as bailiff and taking detailed minutes during court proceedings.
Once fully trained, incumbents will be eligible for a promotion to Court Clerk 1, including a commensurate pay raise.
