Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Cybersecurity Architect to design, implement, and maintain secure systems and infrastructure across our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, architecture frameworks, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to threat mitigation.This role offers preference for local Idaho presence, with flexible hybrid location (onsite Meridian Idaho campus, and work-from-home). #LI-Hybrid
Required Experience: 5-7/+ years' technical experience in multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments, with minimum 2/+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture or a closely related role. Experience should also span:
- Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), identity and access management, and encryption technologies
- Experience with security frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Zero Trust, Defense in Depth)
- Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, and vulnerability management tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, related field of study, or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) and/or other related certification(s)
Your day may look like:
- Design and develop secure architecture solutions for enterprise systems, cloud environments, and applications.
- Lead security architecture reviews and threat modeling exercises.
- Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and business teams to integrate security into all phases of system development.
- Evaluate and recommend security technologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Develop and maintain security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
- Mentor junior security staff and contribute to security awareness initiatives.
- Monitor technological advancement to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry, company standards, and emerging business requirements.
- Evaluates the impact of changes or additions to IT systems and/or IT infrastructures.
- Aligns system and business capability with corporate strategies.
As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is: $104,413 - $156,620 (Architect I); $128,646 - 192,969 (Architect II). The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance). The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, internal equity, geography, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
