Guerdon is leading manufacturer of prefabricated wood buildings, serving both residential and commercial construction markets. Proudly made in the USA at our facility in Boise, Idaho, we serve clients across the Western United States and Canada, primarily in the hospitality and housing industries. With a strong focus on multi-family and multi-story apartments and hotels, our projects are custom-built specializing in innovative building solutions that emphasize sustainability and quality craftsmanship.

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Operations Lead to join our growing team. This critical role involves overseeing day-to-day electrical operations in our Volumetric Modular Manufacturing facility for new commercial and multi-family modular construction projects. The Electrical Operations Lead ensures all work meets safety standards, quality expectations, and project timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of varying levels of electricians, apprentices, and laborers on-site to ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans, codes, and company standards.
  • As a working lead position, the main responsibility is to maintain production schedule and stay within budgeted cost for Electrical Team performances per Guerdon Policies and Procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and assign work to ensure efficient use of labor and materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to determine job requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Oversee the installation of electrical systems, commonly found in commercial and multi-family housing. Including new lighting and lighting control systems, wire in existing systems or repairing old wiring. Installing conduits using a hand, mechanical, or hydraulic bender.
  • Coordinate with other trades and project managers to ensure seamless integration of electrical work into overall project timelines and deliverables.
  • Monitor job progress, resolve technical and personnel issues, and adjust as needed to stay on schedule and budget.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, identify solutions, and direct the crew to implement repairs or modifications.
  • Mentor and train apprentice electricians, providing guidance and developing their skills.
  • Ensure clean up and prepare work area are clear of rubble, debris and other waste materials.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience as a Journeyman Electrician Certification required, Foreman/Lead experience required.
  • Must hold valid license in the State of Idaho, Candidates with active status and licensed in reciprocal states are welcome to apply, reimbursement for the Idaho licensure exam and fees will be provided.
  • Five (5) years of experience in residential and commercial construction.
  • Additional training or certifications in electrical systems or construction management preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Prior experience in prefabricated construction or modular building industry is a

  • Certification in OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation and stellar attendance with the ability to work overtime when required to meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a high level of organization and a strong attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and create good morale with the production crews.
  • Skilled at cross-functional collaboration and building rapport with peers.
  • Highly skilled at reading and interpreting and explaining blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure product is built to standards under tight timelines.
  • Ability to organize and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, and kneel.
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50Ibs.
  • Moderately loud noise level.
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces.
