Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The principal function of an employee in this class is to maintain the mechanical and biological operations of the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with assigned supervisors, other City employees, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are performed in a sewer environment with exposure to hazardous chemicals, airborne and waterborne pathogens, roadway traffic, and high voltage electricity.
