Job Description
Dates of Need: 3/2/2026-11/10/2026. Workers must posses 3 months of experience in row crops. Must be able to lift and/or load 50lbs. Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheelbarrows, produce containers, etc. May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time while sorting, picking, examining, weeding, transporting, pruning, etc. Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as weeding, irrigating, pruning, picking, removing debris, etc. There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example picking, sorting, pruning, shoveling, weeding, etc.
Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables, and fi eld crops such as onion, hops, wheat, corn, pumpkins, alfalfa, carrot seed, squash, and peppers. Use hand tools, such as shovels,
trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil and applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops; applying pesticides; or
cleaning, grading, sorting, packing, and loading harvested products. May maintain trellises, repair fences and farm buildings, or participate in irrigation activities. Operate equipment to
support agricultural activities such as tilling soil; planting, cultivating, and harvesting of crops.
Specific Job Requirements:
This will include the following activities performed for majority of the time:
· Operate equipment to install and remove irrigation drip tape fittings, pipes, and main line.
· Perform activities related to crop planting and harvesting include but not limited to:
o Service farm machinery, perform minor repairs, and notify supervisors of machinery malfunctions.
o Adjust and maintain irrigation and pivot systems
o Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment.
o Operate towed machines such as seed drills to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops.
o Operate farm implements to cultivate, mow, lift and harvest crops.
The following duties will be performed for less than 40% of the time during the length of the contract:
· Remove undesirable and excess growth from crops and/or farm grounds, including the utilization of hand tools to remove weeds.
· Perform general cleanup of farm areas.
· Remove dirt clods, weeds and debris from harvester
· Hand harvest crops, may include manually pulling crops from plants
· Irrigation pipe installation, maintenance and removal
· Furrow irrigation tasks including cleaning corrugates, cleaning concrete ditches and maintaining all associated tasks
· Train hop plant vines to wrap around twine during development.
· Assist with harvest binning stations, including unload trucks, sorting out debris and trash from harvest trucks
· Workers with a valid driver’s license may drive company vehicles to transport crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. The driver’s license is not a pre-hire job requirement. They may drive workers from living quarters to worksites and vice versa and provide one weekly trip to workers to purchase groceries. Drive company vehicles under 26,001 GVW under the farmer-exempt code to haul crops to the hop drier facility, packing shed or storage locations on farm and public roads. A CDL license is not a requirement to drive trucks. Drive times may fluctuate depending on the nature of the crops, business needs, and weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
The Employer attests that these workers will be properly trained by their supervisor who has a valid Private Applicators license which is the standard pursuant to Idaho State Department of Agriculture. Furthermore, their supervisor will be available to ensure that workers understand all chemical labels, safety instructions, and application instructions pursuant to ISDA.
