Job Description
Responsibilities
- Specify, Design, Develop and Test hardware/software for use in automated welding systems.
- Perform integration of AMET developed controls and customer specified mechanical systems.
- Prepare electrical wiring diagrams, cable termination details, and technical configuration documentation for system manufacturing.
- Participation in internal project kickoff meetings, production meetings, and project review meetings. Ability to offer input on project priorities and Engineering workload for setting schedules.
- Revise drawings efficiently in a timely manner to accommodate design changes, logistics pressure, and other unforeseen challenges.
- Provide analysis of systems circuits to ensure compliance with appropriate rating requirement.
- Work with the logistics team to identify supply-chain challenges, establish system electrical bills of material, communicate BOM changes promptly, and utilize ERP software to ensure accuracy of build orders.
- Support the manufacturing team by generating accurate documentation, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with customer specification and company wiring standards. Continuous inspection of the progress of the manufacturing process is expected.
- Coordinate with the software engineering, hardware development, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure all system requirements are met and fully functional.
- Responsible for ensuring facility integration of electrical, safety, data acquisition, and any other 3rd-party systems are designed per customer requirements.
- Occasional Domestic and International travel required.
- Work quickly and accurately against deadlines; self-starter; with attention to detail.
- Maintain professional relationships and appearance with customers.
- Work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations.
Preferred Technical Skills/Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or strong equivalent experience
• Digital, Analog and Power Hardware Experience.
• Controls Systems/Algorithm Design Experience.
• Experience with motors or actuators.
• Experience in system integration.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems.
• Minimum 3 years experience preferred
