The Valley County Treasurer’s Office is seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong numerical aptitude and a commitment to public service to fill the position of Deputy Treasurer. This role is vital to ensuring the financial integrity of the county while providing essential support to its residents. This is a full-time position with full employee benefits.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities

The Deputy Treasurer serves as a key representative of Valley County government. The position balances technical bookkeeping duties with direct public interaction, navigating the complexities of the Idaho State Code to ensure all tax collections are handled accurately and in accordance with legal requirements. More specific duties are as follows:

  • Provides prompt, courteous service to residents via telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Processes incoming payments, prepares bank deposits, and performs regular reconciliations on bank accounts.
  • Maintains official records and processes vendor remittances in strict accordance with Idaho State document retention statutes.
  • Processes Auditor’s Certificates and Journal Entries from the Clerk’s Office and assists with various projects within the Treasurer’s Office.
  • Manages the retrieval and delivery of county mail and performs other related administrative duties as assigned.
