Position Summary

The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and sanitation within the Sheriff’s Office and Detention Facility. This position plays an important role in ensuring a safe, sanitary, and professional environment for staff, inmates, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust assigned areas

  • Empty trash and replace liners

  • Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed

  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces

  • Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order

  • Follow all safety and security procedures within the facility

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Prior custodial or housekeeping experience preferred but not required

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to pass a background check

  • Must be reliable and maintain confidentiality in a law enforcement environment

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks for extended periods

Work Environment

Work is performed inside a secure law enforcement and detention environment. The employee must be comfortable working around custody operations and following facility security protocols.
