Job Description
Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of a licensed practitioner, assists the health care provider in delivery of patient care in a clinic setting. Coordinates nursing care for patients according to established procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Records initial patient histories, collects assessment data and prepares patients for scheduled procedures.
- Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their care.
- Assists physicians with examination, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care, including phlebotomy and injections.
- Responsible for accuracy of information recorded in patient medical records.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with the hospital/clinic standards.
- Complies with all departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety environmental and infection control standards.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy workspace free from clutter.
- Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment. Inspect area daily for compliance with policies, regulations and standards and take corrective action when violations occur.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Current RN, LPN, CNA or MA license/certification preferred.
- Current BLS certification required
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
- Must have or complete immunization training for the IRIS program.

- Excellent organization, communication and customer service skills.
- Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, use good judgement in the delivery of patient care and communicate effectively with patients, family members, care team members and providers.
