Job Description

Position:           Parts Counter/Warehouse Worker

Purpose:

Greet and wait on customers in a courteous and cordial manner, assist customers with parts orders and job needs, assemble orders, charge out merchandise and make necessary entries in the computer system to generate invoices and quotes, assist in accepting warranty parts from customers, receive incoming freight, distribute special order parts, maintain shelf stock and assist in keeping facility neat and clean

Essential Functions:

• Greet all customers, whether on the phone or in the building, in a friendly, approachable manner
• Assist customers in properly identifying needed items using parts catalogs, computer or other resources
• Accurately assemble customer orders in a timely manner
• Enter customer orders into the computer with all necessary information and generate invoices
• Maintain completeness and conciseness when entering information in the system
• Document and report to General Manager any discrepancies between inventory records and shelf quantities
• Document and report any low stock quantities to General Manager or Purchasing Department
• Ensure defective merchandise is tagged properly with date, correct part number and filed in warranty bins
• Study and stay current on new product bulletins and catalogs

Other Tasks:

• When not directly assisting customers, maintain cleanliness and organization of counters, aisles, shelves, restrooms, shipping/receiving and warranty areas
• Restock/refill bins, trays, shelves, pallet racking, etc. as needed
• Willingly attend company functions and meetings, visiting with the customers

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions in English
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to be on your feet for a minimum of 4 hours at a time
• Ability to count back change and handle cash safely and accurately

Notes:

The environment is mostly inside, but will include loading and unloading material outside; sometimes inventories will be taken outside.

Wage:

Full time positions start at $17/hour, DOE.
