As our Information Technology Director, you’ll oversee the full scope of Kootenai County technology—from infrastructure and telecommunications to strategic planning and innovation. This is a leadership role where your vision, expertise, and decision-making will directly impact operations across the entire organization.

We’re looking for a candidate with:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Experience with budgeting, strategic planning, and project management.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

What You’ll Do: 

• Lead and oversee all IT operations, including infrastructure, systems, and staff.
• Develop and execute strategic IT initiatives aligned with Kootenai County goals.
• Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate technology projects and programs.
• Develop and oversee the IT budget, ensuring responsible resource allocation.
• Guide the Kootenai County technology roadmap and stay ahead of emerging trends.
• Oversee telecommunications systems and website management.
• Recommend and implement innovative technology solutions.
• Deliver presentations, training, and expert guidance to stakeholders.
• Build strong partnerships with vendors and external advisors.
