Responsible for the general operation and activities of Sterile Processing and Supply department under the supervision of the Surgical Services Director.
- Knowledgeable in the operation of sterile processing equipment ( washers, autoclaves devices).
- Knowledgeable about surgical instrumentation and power equipment.
- Assembles and sterilizes instruments and procedural trays for outlying offices.
- Verify and accurately document missing instruments according to stand operating procedures.
- Ensures that each instrument is in good working order prior to placing in tray for use and if any problems do arise reports this information to their supervisor.
- Cleans instruments to prepare them for sterilization.
- Records sterilizer test results.
- Operate and maintain steam autoclaves, keeping diligent records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed.
- Effectively communicate with operating room personnel and others.
- Keeps work area neat and clean.
- Makes recommendations to management for possible improvement.
- Demonstrates a commitment to competent to competent professional behavior and practice. Engages and seeks in opportunities for professional growth.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CRCST upon hire
Experience:
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.

- Ability to analyze situations and recognize problems
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent communication skills
