Position Overview

Orofino Junior Senior High School is seeking a qualified and dedicated 9th-12th Grade Science Teacher to teach Physical Science and Science Electives. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a rigorous learning environment that prepares students for post-secondary success, whether in higher education or the workforce.

Qualifications

• Idaho teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s). Note: We welcome candidates pursuing Alternative Authorization paths to certification. If you have a strong science background and are eligible for an Idaho alternative route, we encourage you to apply.
• Strong background in teaching methods, developmentally appropriate classroom activities, and effective classroom management
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching methods
• Strong background in curriculum and the Idaho Core Standards
• Strong background in the integration of technology with instruction
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Work well with students, staff, and the public
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work under deadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
• Demonstrate consistent, daily attendance and punctuality. We believe that student achievement is directly tied to the consistency of instruction and the stability of the classroom environment
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Schedule: Four-day school week with periodic Friday work days- 174 contract days per school year
