Job Description
Assistant Store Managers are the strong right hand to the store manager and responsible for the store's day-to-day activities. Their role is to optimize store sales and profitability. Under the direction of the store manager they will assist in employee management, cash register operations and inventory. They aim to provide customers with an outstanding shopping experience.
Key Accountabilities:
- Sales and “bottom-line” profits of the store.
- Assist in recruitment, hiring and training of employees.
- Assist with employee performance evaluations and improvement plans for employee development and motivation.
- Provide a positive working environment and handle employee issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Resolve customer problems or complaints by determining optimal solutions.
- Ensure interior and exterior of store is maintained to company standards.
- Utilize effective scheduling to maximize productivity, profitability, and margins.
- Encourage store employees to take ownership for their performance and career development plans; follow up on a regular basis.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure the employees also provide the same level of service.
- Coach and train sales team on sales techniques and operational duties.
- Ensure employee awareness of safety and emergency procedures.
- Maintain adequate store supplies.
- Manage store revenue, including cash handling.
- Management of all store operational issues, to include store housekeeping, store administrative duties, physical inventories, price changes, etc.
- Successful candidates should be able to cite significant achievements, demonstrating their aptitude and motivation to handle all aspects of retail operational and merchandising management issues.
Skills Summary:
- Prior management experience is strongly preferred.

- Ability to take direction and lead a successful team in a fast-paced environment, while handling multiple priorities and championing the roll out of new procedures
- Demonstrate knowledge of store products and services, and use this knowledge to inspire sales staff and customers to make purchases
- Ability to motivate and train staff to meet or exceed sales and customer service standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, store staff, support teams and executive management
- Ability to handle physical requirements to accomplish daily responsibilities
- Results orientated with a general willingness to get the job at hand done.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including morning, evening and weekend availability.
- This position does not have a remote worker option
- Models Loss Prevention control and compliance procedures
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and bend, twist and reach repeatedly throughout shift
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and move about on the sales floor, ascends/descends a ladder as needed to access product and assist customers
