Position Overview

Orofino Junior Senior High School is seeking a qualified and dedicated 9th-12th Grade History Teacher for
the upcoming school year. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-based
instruction. The successful candidate will implement curriculum that fosters critical thinking, historical
analysis, and civic literacy. We are looking for a visionary educator who is ready to inspire the next
generation of informed citizens.

Qualifications

• Idaho teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s). 
• Strong background in teaching methods, developmentally appropriate classroom activities, and effective classroom management
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching methods
• Strong background in curriculum and the Idaho Core Standards
• Strong background in the integration of technology with instruction
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Work well with students, staff, and the public
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work under deadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
• Demonstrate consistent, daily attendance and punctuality. We believe that student achievement is directly tied to the consistency of instruction and the stability of the classroom environment
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Schedule: Four-day school week with periodic Friday work days- 174 contract days per school year
