This position provides specialized technical and operational support essential to the daily functioning of the State Hospital South. The role requires regular administrative assistant support to hospital administration, interactions and support to hospital departments. This position interacts with DHW programs, community partners-including courts, community hospitals, and contracted providers-and must maintain a working knowledge of Idaho Statutes and court orders relevant to hospital operations. The position participates in policy review, development, and implementation, requiring analytical skills and the ability to interpret regulatory and procedural requirements. It serves as a primary point of contact for administrative inquiries, independently problem-solving issues and providing guidance, support, and customer service on behalf of hospital leadership.
Key program responsibilities include coordinating the hospital admission list, medical provider credentialing, managing contracts, Memorandum of Understanding and Memorandum of Agreement (MOUs/MOAs), and overseeing affiliation agreements with universities and colleges. This position provides administrative and technical support to the hospital committees, and Governing Body. These duties require program level coordination, independent judgment, and the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
This position is not eligible for telework. The successful applicant will be required to complete a criminal history background investigation. + Medical Staff Support – Supports credentialing processes, committee functions, and documentation requirements for Medical Staff operations.
+ Coordination of Hospital Admission List – Maintains and updates the admission list, collaborates with internal and external partners, and ensures accurate and timely communication.
+ Policies / Committees – Participates in policy review and development, prepares committee materials, and ensures follow through on committee actions.
+ Reception Center / Staff Support & Supervision – Oversees daily operations of the Reception Center, supervises assigned staff, ensures compliance with procedures and provides training and guidance.
+ Contracts, MOUs/MOAs, and Affiliation Agreements – Manages contract processes, maintains tracking systems, coordinates with legal and program partners and ensures compliance with agreement terms.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Typically gained through completion of a college-level course or 20 hours of management training that included all the essential elements of management (Planning, Organizing, Leading, Controlling); OR three months of experience performing all management elements.
+ Some knowledge of program or project planning and implementation . Typically gained through at least one year experience on a committee or with a group that involved program planning and implementation.
+ Experience developing and evaluating policies and procedures . Typically gained through six months experience writing or assisting in reviewing/auditing and developing policies, procedures, field memorandums, directives or post orders.
