Job Description

As a Water Engineer with Jacobs, you will work alongside Project Management and Design Leads in the planning, designing, and commissioning of projects from planning and/or design through construction or finalization. Working within a multi-disciplinary team you will be challenged to grow and learn in your everyday tasks, which, depending on your focus/specialty, could consist of..

  • Hydraulic modeling
  • Water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects
  • water treatment, collection and distribution projects
  • Groundwater investigations, drilling, and well installation
  • Assisting in the preparation of plans and specifications
  • Performing research, technical writing, development of documentation and studies
  • Data collection, processing, and analysis to support planning and design activities
  • Supporting construction activities related to your designs to ensure proper construction
  • Providing on-site troubleshooting based on field conditions to including construction observation, startup and testing, and project closeout activities
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited University program.
  • Interest in and understanding of water related projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate your ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Self-motivated, self-teaching, initiator.
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) Certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Experience with various software programs, which may include Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD (Civil 3D) or MicroStation
  • Experience with various water-related software programs
  • Desire to obtain your Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure within the next 5 years
