Overview

Help connect people to recreation opportunities across Missoula. As a Recreation Transportation Facilitator, you’ll provide safe, reliable transportation for program participants while creating a positive and welcoming environment. This role is essential in helping individuals access recreational programs and activities by ensuring transportation is dependable, supportive, and participant-focused.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, values safety, and takes pride in providing excellent service. If you are dependable, patient, and comfortable driving in a variety of conditions, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the community.

This position will remain open until filled . Priority screening will begin on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Essential Functions

+ Pick-up and drop-off program participants at designated locations.

+ Follow a planned route according to schedule

+ Help participants into and out of the vans.

+ Install car seats/booster seats when needed.

+ Obey traffic laws and state/federal transit regulations.

+ Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of vehicles, such as check tires, lights, fluids, etc.

+ Perform other duties as assigned, based on training and qualifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.

+ Skill in driving in different types of conditions.

+ Skill in promoting positive and safe environments.

+ Skill in communicating, in person and writing, with the proven ability to establish and maintain positive effective working relationships with diverse individuals.

+ Ability to maintain and foster a culture of professionalism, adhere to departmental and City standards and specifications, and support a positive team environment.

+ Ability to accept criticism and resolve conflicts with facilitating outcomes while maintaining a calm demeanor.

+ Ability to learn departmental and City of Missoula practices and procedures.

Working Conditions:

+ Positions require the ability to lift 50 lbs. or less

+ Work environment may involve occasional exposure to unavoidable seasonal weather conditions, occupational hazards, biohazards, and physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

Qualifications and Additional Application Materials

+ Must have at least one (1) year of work-related driving experience.

+ Must be at least 18 years old.

+ Must have a valid Montana driver’s license with a verified acceptable driving record.

+ Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check.

+ Must have CPR/First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
