The Idaho Workforce Development Council is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Technician Senior to support the agency’s financial operations. This position plays a key role in supporting the Council’s financial operations through financial processing, procurement support, recordkeeping, and grants and contracts administration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys working with financial data, and has strong attention to detail.

Financial Support

+ Review financial documents for accuracy and compliance.

+ Process payments, deposits, and related transactions.

+ Create requisitions for purchase orders and service contracts.

+ Track expenses, revenues, and billing activity.

+ Generate financial reports.

+ Respond to vendor inquiries.

+ Provide procurement, requisition, and receiving support.

Office Support

+ Maintain filing systems and organizational documents.

+ Provide office coverage and backup administrative support.

Grants and Contracts Support

+ Assist with contract preparation, routing, and tracking.

+ Support collection and maintenance of grant and contract documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Some knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Typically gained by completion of some college level coursework covering accounting principles and practices AND at least 1 year of experience OR at least two years of experience performing bookkeeping or accounting-related duties such as processing payments, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing invoices, or tracking revenues and expenditures.

· Good knowledge of financial record keeping methods. Typically gained by completion of some college level course work in accounting or a closely related field AND at least 1 year of experience that involved reconciling, balancing and proofing financial data OR at least 2 years of experience that involved reconciling, balancing and proofing financial data.

At least 6 months of experience in each of the following areas:

· Experience in bookkeeping using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.

· Experience researching and compiling financial info and preparing summaries and reports.

· Using personal computers to retrieve, edit, and analyze financial data.

Desirable Qualifications:

· At least 2 years of experience in public administration, finance, bookkeeping, or a related field.

· Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and formatting.

· Experience using Adobe Acrobat.
