Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of construction equipment and trucks. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and keeping our projects moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on:
- Forklifts
- Boom lifts & scissor lifts
- Heavy-duty trucks (including 18-wheelers)
- Construction equipment (skid steers, loaders, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Complete repairs in shop and in the field as needed
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules and service logs
- Coordinate with project managers and superintendents to prioritize repairs
- Maintain parts inventory and order necessary components
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards
- Respond to equipment breakdowns with urgency
Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of:
- Diesel engines
- Hydraulics
- Electrical systems
- Experience with aerial equipment (boom/scissor lifts) preferred
- CDL (or ability to obtain) is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently
- Strong work ethic and accountability mindset
