At the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), every employee is critical to the mission, and we strive to foster an innovative, collaborative workplace where employees can grow and do their best work.The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is hiring a Project Manager 1 to join our team located in District 4, Twin Falls, ID. This position will oversee the delivery of highway construction projects from project initiation through completion. This position is responsible for coordinating and managing construction contracts, monitoring project budgets and schedules, resolving construction-related issues, and ensuring compliance with department standards, specifications, and federal requirements. The Project Manager serves as a key liaison between contractors, consultants, engineers, and department stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES+ Manage highway construction projects and contracts to ensure work is completed in accordance with department standards, specifications, budgets, and schedules
+ Administer construction contracts, including contract monitoring, payment documentation, change management, and claim avoidance activities
+ Coordinate with contractors, consultants, design teams, and department personnel to address project issues and ensure successful project delivery
+ Review construction activities, inspection reports, testing results, and materials documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements
+ Monitor project budgets and prepare payment estimates and related documentation using project management and contract administration software
+ Participate in project design review sessions and collaborate with Engineers of Record to facilitate efficient project construction and timely resolution of requests for information
+ Manage consultant agreements related to construction engineering and inspection services
+ Lead project closeout activities, including reviewing documentation, certifications, material closeouts, and acceptance requirements to ensure timely project completion
+ Provide technical guidance and project leadership to construction staff, contractors, and consultants throughout the construction process
+ Resolve construction-related issues involving project scope, schedule, quality, contractor concerns, change orders, and compliance requirements
+ Coordinate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to address technical issues and support successful project outcomes
+ Develop project scopes, schedules, resource plans, cost estimates, and project management documentation
+ Communicate project information, risks, progress, and outcomes through written reports, presentations, and stakeholder meetings
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience:+ Planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes
+ Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public
+ Developing and monitoring contracts
