Family Court Services Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Family Court Specialist to join our Specialty Court Team. In this critical role, you will serve as a key resource for judges, court staff, service providers, and self-represented litigants, helping families access vital court services while ensuring the efficient administration of justice.

The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm with some nights and weekends required.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage referrals for family court services and ensure timely case processing.
  • Coordinate mediation sessions, supervised visitations, parenting coordination meetings, and guardianship reviews.
  • Maintain case tracking systems and monitor deadlines for time-sensitive matters.
  • Serve as a liaison between the court and contracted service providers.
  • Prepare, proofread, and distribute court correspondence, reports, notices, and orders.
  • Assist judges and self-represented litigants with child support calculations and parenting plan resources.
  • Maintain confidential records and ensure compliance with court rules and privacy requirements.
  • Track program budgets, process invoices, and support financial reporting activities.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking family court services.
  • Provide clear, professional guidance regarding court processes and available resources.
  • Work closely with judges, attorneys, court staff, probation officers, law enforcement, and community agencies.
  • Support families facing complex situations involving domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health concerns, and high-conflict parenting issues.
  • Assist with staff training, program development initiatives, and grant reporting.
  • Help identify process improvements that enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Crosstrain with related court departments to ensure continuity of operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant education, training, or experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • At least two (2) years of administrative experience in a court, legal, or public sector environment. 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of family court systems, guardianship, domestic violence, court assistance, and family services programs.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing crisis, conflict, or trauma.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality requirements and court procedures.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Documents, case management systems, and secure document platforms.
  • Ability to independently prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
