Job Description

Workers will perform temporary, full-time janitorial, snow removal, and exterior property maintenance services. Duties include removing snow, ice, slush, leaves, branches, mud, litter, and other debris from sidewalks, walkways, entrances, parking lots, loading areas, and other exterior common areas using shovels, snow blowers, push brooms, backpack blowers, ice choppers, scrapers, rakes, and hand tools. Workers will apply salt, sand, and ice melt materials using handheld or walk-behind spreaders to maintain safe walking and driving surfaces.In addition, workers may assist with street and parking lot sweeping operations as part of routine exterior property maintenance. These duties are limited to cleaning paved surfaces by manually sweeping or using walk-behind or ride-on commercial power sweepers to remove leaves, dirt, dust, trash, gravel, and other accumulated debris from parking lots, private roads, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, loading areas, and similar paved surfaces. Workers may also use push brooms, backpack blowers, litter grabbers, dust pans, shovels, and trash collection containers to gather and dispose of debris. These activities are performed to maintain clean, safe, and presentable commercial and residential properties and are not road construction or municipal street maintenance.General exterior maintenance duties may include collecting litter, emptying exterior trash receptacles, cleaning around entrances and dumpster enclosures, removing fallen branches and storm debris, sweeping sidewalks and curbs, clearing landscaped borders of debris, and preparing exterior areas for seasonal weather conditions using hand tools and standard commercial property maintenance equipment.Perform temporary, full-time winter property maintenance and snow removal services for commercial and residential properties. Remove snow, ice, slush, leaves, branches, mud, and debris from sidewalks, walkways, entrances, parking lots, and common areas using shovels, snow blowers, brooms, backpack blowers, and other hand or power tools. Apply salt and ice melt materials to maintain safe conditions. Perform exterior cleaning, trash removal, sweeping, seasonal cleanup, and related property maintenance duties. During non-snow periods, assist with street and parking lot sweeping operations and general exterior maintenance. Work may include overnight, weekend, holiday, and emergency weather-response shifts. Duties may also include fall and spring cleanup activities such as raking leaves, clearing gutters, removing branches and storm debris, cleaning landscaped areas, and preparing properties for seasonal weather conditions.Job RequirementsNo prior education is needed; however, 3 months of experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided. Some weekend work required. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs of snow for 75 yards and be able to handle temperature extremes.Salary/Wages/Benefits$18.26 an hour bi-weekly, or approximately 40 hours per week, up to 10 overtime hours may be offered, however are not guaranteed. From Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Applicants may be offered more than advertised. The wage rate may vary based on experience and/or merit. $27.39/hr for overtime. All deductions from the worker’s paycheck will be made as required by law. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages and pay bi-weekly by check. Any advances will be deducted with the consent of the employee. Employer deducts reasonable fair market value cost of rent/utilities based on number of occupants for workers electing to reside in employer provided housing (cost TBD). Optional daily transportation will be provided from and to the worksite.In the first workweek, the cost of transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be directly reimbursed to every worker.
