Job Description

Primary Function:

Detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support both sales operations and project management functions within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and maintaining data used for project tracking, sales reporting, forecasting, estimating, and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will work with sales, project managers, operations, and leadership to ensure data accuracy, identify trends and red flags, and provide actionable insights.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform front-end data analysis for sales and project management activities
  • Develop, maintain, and improve sales tracking and project management templates
  • Monitor project performance metrics, estimates at completion (EAC), budgets, schedules, and forecasting data
  • Collect, organize, validate, and summarize data from multiple departments and systems
  • Ensure all required project and sales data is complete, accurate, and submitted on time
  • Coordinate with project managers, sales teams, production, quality, engineering, operations, and leadership to obtain missing or incomplete information
  • Identify data discrepancies, trends, risks, and operational red flags and communicate findings to management
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and visual summaries to support business decisions
  • Maintain data integrity and support ongoing data management processes
  • Analyze sales performance, project costs, productivity metrics, and operational KPIs
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives related to reporting, tracking, and data collection
  • Support management with forecasting, budgeting, and operational reporting needs
  • Create and maintain documentation for reporting processes and data procedures
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of tracking tools and reporting systems

 

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:  

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, project coordination, sales support, or manufacturing operations preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other reporting and data visualization platforms preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, project tracking software, or manufacturing databases is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with teams
  • Ability to identify trends, inconsistencies, risks, and process improvement opportunities
  • Ability to handle confidential business and financial information

 

Preferred Skills

  • Dashboard creation and reporting automation
  • Forecasting, KPI tracking, and estimate-at-completion (EAC) reporting
  • Manufacturing or project-based business experience

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a computer. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet – typical of what is generally found in an office setting. The employee will occasionally find it necessary to enter a manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment is typical of that type of setting – employees may be exposed to inclement weather, loud noises, tripping hazards; and there may be exposure to sparks, welding arc, open flame, and moving equipment.
