Job Description
Gem State Staffing is hiring a Housing Specialist for a local company that assists individuals and families who have been displaced due to fire and water damage. What You'll Do
As a Housing Specialist, you will work directly with clients, landlords, community partners, and service providers to secure temporary and long-term housing solutions. You'll play a vital role in helping families rebuild their lives while managing a fast-paced caseload.
Responsibilities
- Conduct client assessments to determine housing needs and program eligibility.
- Assist clients with housing applications, lease agreements, and required documentation.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with landlords, property managers, and community agencies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records.
- Monitor client progress and provide ongoing case management support.
- Advocate for clients and help remove barriers to obtaining stable housing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, funding requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and strong attention to detail in every client interaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in housing services, case management, social services, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license may be required.
