1) Job Opportunity: Mountain Laborer II, 15 of Temporary, full-time openings
2) Job duties: Job duties include assisting with pre-season and post-season snowmaking and maintenance; checking assigned snowcats for mechanical issues before and after operation; completing
work orders for any mechanical issues and submitting them to snowcat mechanics; maintaining ski lift ramps; attending department meetings and completing assigned projects; operating and monitoring snow guns remotely via computer from snowmaking headquarters; performing pipe repairs; operating pumps, fans, and compressors manually or remotely; removing snow manually, with snow blowers, or with plows; traveling safely via snowmobile, snowcat, snowboard, or skis; following daily grooming and snowmaking plans to meet production goals; building, maintaining, and grooming terrain parks; performing winching operations; meeting with coworkers before departure to determine grooming routes and techniques (solo or in fleet); transporting mountain freight to designated lodges; and operating snowcats and other equipment on designated ski runs. Must be able to hike and work in extreme cold and inclement
weather; move equipment up and down snow- and ice-covered slopes; and assist with pre-season and post-season mountain operations. Employees may be required to collaborate with other mountain departments and assist with additional duties as needed to support resort operations.
- Minimum education requirement: None.
- Minimum experience requirements: 2 months of manual labor experience in a professional environment required.
- Basic Schedule: 40. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, graveyard/swing, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 4:00 pm – 12:00 am or 12:00 am – 8:00 am. Shift hours may vary. per week

4) Rate of Pay: $27.08 per hour
5) Overtime hours are offered at the rate of $40.62 per hour
6) Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due.
7) Frequency of pay: Bi-Weekly
8) Employer does not offer any type of bonus or pay above the hourly wage rate.
9) Boarding options: Optional housing is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost of housing, if accepted, is $154.00 - $500.00 per bi-weekly pay period. If used, the total cost per day of housing will be deducted from paycheck. A $400.00 - $600.00 refundable security deposit is required, to be deducted from paycheck in three (3) equal installments from employee’s first three (3) paychecks and returned to the employee only upon the completion of the entire employment period and on the suitable condition of the housing and at the employer’s sole discretion. In order to move into the employee housing, workers must complete a pre-employment background check. Housing is not mandatory.
10) Employer will make all deductions for workers’ paycheck as required by law; deductions Employer intends to make from paycheck, which are not required by law, if applicable, would be deductions for housing, as discussed above, if employee choose voluntary housing option. Employer may allow deductions not required by law as long as advance permission is granted by employee or Employer will state the specific deductions.
11) If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed early, employer will provide or pay for the workers’ reasonable costs of return transportation and daily subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Receipts will be required for transportation payment or reimbursement. If the worker uses a personal vehicle for travel, mileage must be reported in miles or kilometers. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
12) Employer will pay for the worker’s cost of return transportation and daily subsistence from the place of employment to the place from which the worker, disregarding intervening employment, departed to work for the employer, if the worker completes the certified period of employment or is dismissed from employment for any reason by the employer before the end of the period, as is also outlined above. If the worker meets the aforementioned conditions and chooses not to travel from the place of employment to the place from which the worker departed to work for the employer, the employer will pay the worker a reasonable amount equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for transportation had the worker agreed to travel to the place from which they departed to work for the employer.
13) Employer does not provide daily transportation to the worksite.
14) Employer will reimburse H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government incurred by the H-2B worker via check issued to employee (but need not include passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker).
15) Employer will provide workers, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, equipment required to perform duties assigned.
