Job Description

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer in Idaho Falls, ID; Sacramento, CA; or Reno, NV. In this role, you will lead design efforts for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger, high-complexity projects.

You'll work closely with engineers and consultants to deliver innovative electrical engineering solutions for building systems, ensuring projects meet client expectations and industry standards.

Principal Responsibilities
Lead design efforts for electrical systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
Support project execution as part of a team; lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives.
Document design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project progress and budget.
Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultants.
Provide in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering; contribute to research and innovation.
Prioritize safety in all engineering work and identify potential safety risks.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Identify potential project problems and seek guidance from the Project Manager.
Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phases.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
2 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; and energy compliance software such as ComCheck. Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards
Proficient with the use of reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)
Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS, Building Information Model software, and CTC Revit Add In Tools; Proficiency of Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc.
Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays
