Job Description
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays an important role in delivering exceptional customer service to our clients. You'll assist with policy servicing, coverage questions, policy changes, claims support, and account retention while also working closely with clients, insurance carriers, and other members of our agency.
Because we are a small team, this position offers the opportunity to learn every aspect of the business. In addition to servicing existing accounts, you'll help prepare quotes, assist with policy sales, and help clients find insurance solutions that fit their needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, building relationships, and developing a long-term career in the customer service and insurance industries.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service by phone, email, and in-person
- Assist clients with policy changes, renewals, billing questions, and coverage updates
- Answer client questions and help resolve insurance-related concerns
- Support clients throughout the claims process
- Review client coverages and make recommendations when appropriate to better fit client needs
- Support agency retention goals through proactive client communication
- Maintain accurate client files and documentation
- Communicate with insurance carriers to regarding policies and client requests
- Work closely alongside other members of the agency
- Continue learning insurance products, carriers, guidelines, and industry regulations
Essential Qualification/Skills
- Active Property & Casualty insurance license OR willingness to obtain within agreed upon timeline
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortability learning new technology and agency management systems
- Professional, positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a small team
