Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct environmental due diligence reviews (Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments).
  • Perform field oversight for environmental investigation and remediation projects (3070% field work depending on season).
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, budgets, and Response Action Plans.
  • Collect, tabulate, and evaluate environmental data for compliance and remediation strategies.
  • Support monitoring projects, limited site investigations, remedial investigations, and brownfield redevelopment.
  • Implement remedial actions for petroleum, non-petroleum, PFAS, and vapor intrusion mitigation, and other constituents of concern following MPCA guidance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and assist in strategic business development initiatives.
  • Support grant funding applications for brownfield investigation and cleanup.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements during all project phases.
  • Positions self to access tools and materials in various locations.
  • Traverses job sites having uneven terrain, slopes, or reinforced trenches.
  • Moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Conducts visual assessments of task quality and job site safety.
  • Ascends/descends into job site areas to complete inspections and data collection.
  • Operates tools requiring fine motor skills.
  • May remain in stationary position for extended periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Natural Resources, Soil Science, or related field from an accredited institution.
    • Masters degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 25 years of experience in environmental investigation, remediation, and technical reporting.
    • Familiarity with Phase I and Phase II ESAs for general environmental projects.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred.
    • Asbestos and Lead Inspection credentials a plus.
    • GIT pursuing PG, or PG is a plus
  • Software:
    • Proficiency with GIS, gINT and EDGE/EQuIS, AutoCAD LT software preferred.
    • Microsoft Suite Products (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc).
  • Working Conditions/Schedule/Location:
    • Work is performed in both an office and field setting; must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
    • May be required to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, up to five days per week, as required by the
