As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll be at the center of daily operations, helping students navigate their educational journey while supporting faculty, managing critical administrative processes, and contributing to program success. About Bridgerland Technical College Bridgerland Technical College is one of Utah’s eight technical colleges. We provide high-quality, technical education to those in the Bear River Region. We prepare students for successful careers through hands-on skills and learning opportunities. What You’ll Do As the Administrative Assistant for Transportation and Apprenticeship, you’ll provide essential support to departments while serving as a key resource for students, faculty, and industry partners. Key responsibilities include:+ Working closely with department faculty and staff to support daily operations and program needs.
+ Assisting prospective students through the application, admissions, and registration processes.
+ Answering questions regarding programs, prerequisites, admissions requirements, and instructional procedures.
+ Preparing and maintaining confidential student and departmental records in accordance with college policies.
+ Assisting with student registration, grading, progress tracking, completion reporting, and graduation documentation.
+ Supporting accreditation efforts, including completion, placement, and licensure reporting.
+ Compiling, analyzing, and reporting data for internal departments and external agencies.
+ Creating, formatting, and maintaining reports, forms, correspondence, and other program documentation.
+ Scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and recording minutes for staff, advisory committee, and departmental meetings.
+ Receiving incoming calls, responding to inquiries, taking messages, and routing communications appropriately.
+ Ordering office, laboratory, and instructional supplies, materials, and equipment.
+ Assisting with special projects, accreditation preparation, evaluations, reports, and departmental initiatives.
+ Supporting program events, activities, student celebrations, and graduations.
+ Promoting a positive image of the college through exceptional customer service and professionalism.
+ Performing additional duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and committed to supporting student success through exceptional administrative service. Preferred Qualifications+ Experience in administrative support, office management, customer service, higher education, or a related field.
+ Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
+ Excellent written, verbal, and grammatical communication skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other business software.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
+ Experience creating reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, and other professional documents.
+ Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
+ Experience supporting accreditation, reporting, or compliance-related processes is a plus.
