Idaho Power – located in vibrant Boise, Idaho – is looking for a Land Rights Professional to join our Corporate Services and Communications team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Land Rights Professional do for us ?

With minimal oversight, the Land Rights Professional is responsible for efficiently managing Idaho Power’s real estate properties and interests while adhering to acceptable real estate practices and procedures. The role acts as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders and governmental agencies, closely coordinating with them to ensure timely and quality execution of work while seeking the best financial impact for Idaho Power. They represent the company in negotiations for purchase, exchange, sale, or lease of real estate. They provide expertise on real estate matters that may involve property holdings; entitlements for easements, licenses, leases; land use authorizations; and right of way agreements and negotiations.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

+ Property descriptions and land surveys

+ Appraisals

+ Property ownership and conveyance

+ Local, state, and federal laws and regulations associated with real estate transactions

+ General application of GIS, GPS, and public land survey system

Skills in:

+ Oral and written communication and presentation skills

+ Advanced computer skills

Ability to:

+ Conduct public relations and negotiation

+ Manage projects

+ Resolve conflicts

+ Interpret legal documents

+ Communicate effectively with varied audiences

+ Troubleshoot and recommend solutions

+ Provide accurate information to help individuals make informed decisions

+ Demonstrate professional presence with all levels of company and external entities

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, planning, or a related field

OR

+ An equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

+ 5 years of real estate experience including 2 years of complex negotiation and acquisition work

Preferred:

+ 1 or more years of experience with commercial real estate transactions.

+ 1 or more years of experience working in a corporate work environment

+ 1 or more years of experience with canals, railroads, and tribal issues

+ 1 or more years of experience with electric utility infrastructure projects or land use authorizations

Licenses & Certifications:

+ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

Preferred:

+ SR/WA certification, real estate broker license, real estate salesperson license, and/or certified general appraiser license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. Occasionally hike and or walk in varied terrain and drive for long distances with occasional overnights.
