The Core Reliability Maintenance A is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations and facility maintenance activities. This position requires demonstrated progression from entry-level maintenance work and the ability to perform a broad range of mechanical maintenance tasks with reduced oversight. The Core Reliability Maintenance A role troubleshoots industrial equipment, performs preventive maintenance, supports production reliability, and continues developing technical and troubleshooting skills needed for advancement.

This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations by maintaining equipment integrity, responding to failures and malfunctions, and completing maintenance work in accordance with established safety standards, procedures, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Maintenance A Mechanic, are to:

+ Sustain being a strong mentor and trainer leading and imparting knowledge to junior mechanics and providing technical support to area OMEs;

+ Maintain production machinery with the objective to improve system performance and efficiency;

+ Perform equipment repairs for all areas of the plant;

+ Support capital projects including construction and commissioning;

+ Provide input and assistance developing and revising maintenance Stand Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA);

+ Meet the daily maintenance and shutdown schedules outlined by the planning and scheduling process;

+ Maintain all major tasks and responsibilities of a Maintenance I, II and III;

+ Additional skills required (pass any required hands on and/or book tests) in at least four of the following areas (in addition to Maintenance I, II and III skills):

+ Advanced welding;

+ Advance pump rebuild;

+ Kiln and dryer adjustments;

+ Plasma table operation;

+ Machine shop l;

+ Machine shop ll;

+ Crane operations;

+ Rotolign;

+ Certified Welding Inspector (CWI);

+ Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) certifications;

+ Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certifications and hours;

+ Railroad certifications.

Technical Responsibilities

Machine Repair / Millwright

+ Perform basic millwright work

+ Replace and align motors

+ Replace bearings

+ Maintain mixers and crushers

+ Repair and troubleshoot pumps

+ Identify pump applications and perform removal and changeout

+ Verify tolerances and impeller clearances

+ Assist with balancing, baseplate setting, and pre-alignment

+ Install bearings and mechanical seals

+ Repair and replace fans

Material Handling Equipment

+ Maintain and repair belt and chain drives

+ Install, repair, align, and troubleshoot gearboxes

+ Support hydraulic systems and compressors

+ Repair and align screw conveyors, bucket elevators, and pan conveyors

Fabrication

+ Use oxy-acetylene equipment

+ Operate plasma torch equipment

+ Perform basic welding and fabrication techniques

Reliability and Equipment Care

+ Support baghouse operation

+ Perform lubrication tasks and oil analysis

+ Support rotating equipment analysis

+ Assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures

+ Develop railcar repair skills and certifications as required

+ Operate manlifts and related equipment safely

Required Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

+ Progression from a Maintenance B position or comparable experience in industrial/mechanical operations OR

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance role within industrial or mechanical operations OR

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in a fabrication shop

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of $44.93 per hour. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
