Job Summary

Gem State Staffing in Pocatello is hiring Manufacturing Operators to support a high-volume frozen food packaging facility in Pocatello, ID. In this role, you’ll rotate between workstations on the production line and help ensure the efficient and accurate packaging of food products. This is a great opportunity for candidates with experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, or food production.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment as directed by the Line Lead or Production Supervisor
• Package frozen food products according to company and FDA standards
• Rotate through different roles including Overwrap Operator, Carton Loader, Case Packer, and Case Erector
• Inspect products for quality and proper labeling
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation
• Follow CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Report mechanical issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards immediately

Key Skills & Workstation Duties

Overwrap Operator

• Operate packaging machines, including start-stop controls and film loading
• Maintain proper product placement and line speed
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues when needed

Carton Loader

• Load frozen products into cartons at 85 units per minute or more
• Check print quality and seal integrity on cartons

Case Packer

• Load packaged goods into shipping cases
• Remove defective or incomplete packages
• Respond to metal detector alarms promptly

Case Erector

• Assemble and supply cases to the packing line (8+ cases per minute)
• Recycle rejected cartons and maintain packing line supply
• Keep packing area clean and stocked

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in manufacturing, food packaging, or warehouse environments preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Understanding of FDA and CGMP compliance (preferred)
• Forklift experience is a plus (not required)
• Ability to stand, lift, and perform repetitive motions for 8-hour shifts
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Compensation

• Pay: $16.36 – $17.61 per hour
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
• Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary
• Work Location: In person – Pocatello, ID
